Biden regime agrees to disband Homeland Intelligence Experts Group following lawsuit brought by America First Legal.
The Biden administration has agreed to shut down a nascent Department of Homeland Security intelligence “experts” group in the wake of a lawsuit brought by America First Legal (AFL). AFL’s lawsuit from November claimed the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group was a partisan organization and not neutral, citing the fact that 98% the political contributions of those named to the group went to Democrats. The Biden administration agreed to wind down the group within 30 days and surrender it documents to AFL contingent on the dismissal of its lawsuit. “The Experts Group shall be wound down within thirty (30) days of the entry of the Order, it will not hold any future meetings, and the Department will not reconstitute the Experts Group inconsistent with the FACA or the Homeland Security Act of 2002. The Department will also provide the Experts Group meeting agendas and meeting minutes with participant identifying information redacted within fifteen (15) days of the entry of the Order,” it said.
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced the establishment of the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group in September 2023. “The security of the American people depends on our capacity to collect, generate, and disseminate actionable intelligence to our federal, state, local, territorial, tribal, campus, and private sector partners,” Mayorkas had said in a statement. The group had included highly political former intelligence officials like former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan, who knowingly lied in a letter by 51 intelligence officials claiming Hunter Biden’s laptop story was “Russian disinformation.”
Immediately after DHS formed the Group, Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), and Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) sent a letter to Mayorkas demanding “DHS immediately rescind the appointments of these known purveyors of disinformation to the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group.” “DHS formed this so-called ‘Homeland Intelligence Experts Group’ in September 2023, in its own words, ‘to provide advice and perspectives on intelligence and national security efforts,'” America First Legal wrote on X Friday. “However, it was not actually intended to provide unbiased, expert advice to advance the Department of Homeland Security’s mission; instead, it was a completely partisan group designed to provide top cover for the Department’s radical agenda under the leadership of Secretary Mayorkas.” AFL President and former Trump adviser Stephen Miller hailed the disbandment of the advisory group as a victory. “As a result of our lawsuit in federal court, DHS is surrendering in total to our demands: they are closing down their new partisan intelligence board featuring Clapper and Brennan — which would have been used to promote censored, unethical spying, and gross civil rights invasions of political enemies — and they are surrendering their documents, handing them over to our possession. In the document, they call SARS-CoV-2 a “vaccine induced illness.” It’s always been the vaccines. There was never a “COVID virus.” People can throw conjecture to the wind as much as they want. Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team admitted that key evidence in former President Donald Trump’s classified documents criminal case was tampered with since it was seized by the FBI. They even admitted that prosecutors misled the court about it for a period of time, a revelation that could pose serious problems for Smith’s case. “Since the boxes were seized and stored, appropriate personnel have had access to the boxes for several reasons, including to comply with orders issued by this Court in the civil proceedings noted above, for investigative purposes, and to facilitate the defendants’ review of the boxes,” Smith’s team wrote in a new court filing to U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon on Friday. “There are some boxes where the order of items within that box is not the same as in the associated scans,” the prosecutors wrote. Smith’s team even conceded in a footnote that it had misled the court about the problem by previously stating that the evidence had remained in the exact state it had been seized. “The Government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what Government counsel previously understood and represented to the Court,” the footnote reads. But Smith’s prosecutors also tried downplaying the problem by claiming that the order of the documents and boxes could have been scrambled or rearranged since the government took possession of them. “There are several possible explanations, including the above-described instances in which the boxes were accessed, as well as the size and shape of certain items in the boxes possibly leading to movement of items,” the prosecutors wrote. “For example, the boxes contain items smaller than standard paper such as index cards, books, and stationary, which shift easily when the boxes are carried, especially because many of the boxes are not full.” But legal experts told Just The News that this development could spell trouble for Smith’s case. “Prosecutors and investigators should never tamper with or alter evidence in their possession, including the order of documents in a box because one never knows what may become relevant or crucial to a court or jury later in a case,” Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz said. Defense attorney Tim Parlatore, who had worked on Trump’s team in the documents case, claimed “this admission is stunning on multiple levels.” “But at a deeper level, the loss of specific document locations is a destruction of exculpatory evidence,” he said. “I went through all of the boxes at NARA and the document order was important because it was clear to us that the boxes had been untouched since leaving the White House.” “For prosecutors who are trying to prove that the defendants knowingly possessed these documents to then destroy the evidence that would undermine that claim is a very serious violation,” he added. Authorities say they “rescued” more than 400 illegal migrants, including dozens of unaccompanied minors, from three coach buses abandoned on a highway in Mexico this week. The incident unfolded on Thursday in the state of Veracruz, which lies on the Gulf Coast. Three tour buses full of people were found on the side of the Minatitlán-Acayucan highway. In total, 407 U.S.-bound migrants without permission to be in Mexico were traveling in “unhealthy conditions” on the overloaded buses, the National Migration Institute (INM) explained in a press release. “The identified people come from seven countries in the Caribbean, Central and South America; 91 were traveling in family groups (30 women, 15 men and 46 children under 18 years of age) and 52 girls, boys and adolescents were found without the company of an adult.” The migrants were taken into custody by various agencies but it is unclear if they will be removed from the country. The “rescue” came just after 85 illegal migrants were pulled out of a tractor-trailer in nearby Tabasco state. “The event occurred on the morning of Saturday, April 27 on the Escárcega-Villahermosa federal highway, near the municipality of Macuspana. During the inspection of the vehicle, people from Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua were identified who did not have permits to travel through the country,” the INM explained in a statement this week. On Tuesday, INM agents removed 104 illegal migrants from a stash house in Ciudad Juarez, just across the border from El Paso, Texas. Migrants frequently perish or suffer serious injuries in crashes and accidents as they make their way to the U.S. through Mexico and Central America, as InfoWars frequently reports. Federal authorities arrested an illegal alien convicted of first-degree manslaughter who was released by officials in Connecticut despite an immigration detainer filed against the him. On Thursday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the apprehension of a 35-year-old Guatemalan national in Somers, Connecticut. The Guatemalan illegally entered the United States at an unknown location in 2007. In 2013, he was convicted of manslaughter in the first degree and sentenced to 17 years in prison. That same year, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers “encountered the Guatemalan national at the MacDougall Correctional Institute in Suffield and filed an immigration detainer for his custody with the Connecticut Department of Corrections,” ICE explained in a press release. “A U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) immigration judge in Hartford issued a final order of removal for the Guatemalan citizen Feb. 6, 2014.” State officials ignored the ICE hold against the Guatemalan and released him from Osborn Correctional Institution on April 24, 2024, after serving 10 years of his sentence. He was picked up a short time later by ERO Boston agents from the Hartford office and will be held in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. “We are proud to have apprehended this unlawfully present individual convicted of manslaughter in Connecticut,” ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons said in a statement. “When unlawfully present people commit heinous crimes like manslaughter, we are committed to removing them no matter how long it takes. Cuomo then brought on Nurse Practitioner Sean Barcavage, who explained how he was dismissed by his own medical colleagues when he tried asking for help after suffering debilitating COVID vaccine side effects. “I thought that all my pro-vaccine colleagues that championed me on would be there to lift me up and help me, and in fact, they’re the ones who turned around and dismissed, denied and tried to censor and bury me,” Barcavage said. “They’re afraid that by showing my face, I’ll drive vaccine hesitancy. But what they don’t realize is what I have come to realize, is that the censorship and the hiding of it is actually fueling vaccine hesitancy.” “If the government had just said, ‘Hey, these are novel vaccines. There will be reactions, let’s just have a program in place to deal with them. Set up a fun, obligate the manufacturers to provide help or research.’ I think the citizens would have appreciated that. But instead what happened is they just suppressed me, and that also shocked me.” Cuomo then offered to share his doctors’ information with Barcavage since he is also suffering from a COVID vaccine injury. “I’m working with people who are working on this. Contrary to Cavuto’s denial, a network of Soros-linked groups are in fact behind these pro-Palestinian campus protests. Tent cities set up at colleges including Harvard, Yale, Berkeley in California, the Ohio State University and Emory in Georgia were organized by branches of the Soros-funded Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), the New York Post reported last week. And at least three of the college protests are being encouraged by paid radicals who are “fellows” of a Soros-funded group called the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR). Ukraine’s President Zelensky has reportedly told his top military commanders that Ukraine must win against Russia if it hopes to one day be admitted into NATO. Russian state media has captured and translated key lines of the speech. “I believe that we will be in NATO only if we win. I don’t think that we will be admitted […] during the war,” Zelensky had said during a meeting with officers. Ukrainian sources also confirmed the remarks. He admitted that as things currently stand, NATO leaders “feel the risks” while “others are simply skeptical.” The Ukrainian president continued, “Therefore, for Ukraine to be accepted into the alliance, we need victory.” He further described that Ukraine’s independence can ultimately be permanently guaranteed by eventually becoming a full member of NATO. From Brussels and Washington’s perspective, the idea of NATO membership for Kiev has been put on hold, despite the enthusiastic rhetoric of some hawkish officials in the West, given NATO’s Article 5 common defense treaty would mean it would trigger automatic war with Russia. NATO as a matter of policy does not admit nations in a state of active war, or with a hot conflict on their border – given it would automatically force the whole alliance to militarily intervene. In this case, admission would lead to nuclear-armed confrontation with Russia basically overnight. However, given the continued escalation of the West, that’s still where things may eventually be headed. This also as the world is constantly being told that the tens of billions in Western funds and aid already sent is never enough… 
Meanwhile, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg is busy this week chastising members of the alliance for the slow pace of weapons delivery at a moment Ukraine has admitted getting beaten back along some key frontline positions. Earlier this week Ukraine’s defense chief admitted that a tactical retreat is underway. “I know that serious delays in support have meant serious consequences on the battlefield,” Stoltenberg said Monday alongside Zelensky at a joint press conference. “For months, the US was unable to agree on a package. And European Allies have been unable to deliver ammunition at the scale we promised.” Meanwhile, the arguments out of Kiev are getting more and more creative:

There is no need for an international investigation into the explosions on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 natural gas pipelines, Sweden’s Foreign Ministry has told RIA Novosti news agency. Last week, China’s deputy envoy to the UN, Geng Shuang, called for a probe into the September 2022 blasts that ruptured the pipelines, which were built to deliver Russian gas to Germany and the rest of Europe. Countries should work together on an investigation “to bring the perpetrators to justice in order to prevent the reoccurrence of similar incidents,” Geng said. When asked about Beijing’s proposal by RIA Novosti on Friday, the Swedish Foreign Ministry insisted that “there is no need for an international investigation. It’s going to achieve nothing.” “An investigation into the incidents was carried out by the Swedish authorities in accordance with the fundamental principles of independence, impartiality and the rule of law. Other national investigations are still ongoing,” the ministry stated. Sweden conducted its own probe as the explosions on the Nord Stream pipelines occurred in the country’s exclusive economic zone. Germany and Denmark carried out separate inquiries. However, in February, the Swedish and Danish investigations were aborted. Stockholm said it had come to the conclusion that the case did not fall under Swedish jurisdiction, while Copenhagen concluded that “there was deliberate sabotage” of the pipelines, but found insufficient grounds to pursue criminal proceedings. Russia is carrying out its own investigation into the Nord Stream blasts despite the refusal of Western nations to cooperate. Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said earlier that Moscow had sent more than a dozen requests for legal assistance to Germany, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland and Sweden, but only received a single formal reply from Copenhagen. Russian President Vladimir Putin and other officials suggested previously that the pipelines were targeted by the US or on Washington’s behalf.
